Abstract

Academic stress is a common concern among university students and may influence emotional health, daily functioning, and overall mental well-being. This study examines the association between academic stress and mental well-being among university students. Academic stress is assessed through examination pressure, workload, deadlines, academic expectations, time management difficulties, and concerns about future performance. Mental well-being is evaluated using perceived stress, mood, concentration, sleep quality, emotional exhaustion, and overall psychological functioning. The findings suggest that higher levels of academic stress are associated with poorer mental well-being, including increased anxiety, fatigue, sleep disturbances, reduced concentration, and lower emotional stability. In contrast, effective coping strategies, social support, regular physical activity, adequate sleep, and balanced study routines are associated with better psychological outcomes. The study highlights the importance of stress-management programs, supportive academic environments, and accessible counseling services to promote mental well-being among university students.
