Abstract

Sleep patterns play an important role in concentration, memory, learning ability, and academic performance among university students. This study examines the association between sleep habits and academic outcomes in this population. Sleep patterns are assessed through sleep duration, bedtime and wake-up schedules, sleep quality, nighttime awakenings, and daytime sleepiness. Academic performance is evaluated using self-reported grades, class attendance, concentration, study efficiency, and perceived academic productivity. The findings suggest that students with regular sleep schedules and adequate sleep duration tend to report better concentration, improved learning ability, and stronger academic performance. In contrast, insufficient sleep, irregular sleep timing, late-night studying, and frequent sleep disturbances are associated with daytime fatigue and reduced academic functioning. The study highlights the importance of healthy sleep routines, consistent sleep schedules, and adequate nightly rest in supporting cognitive performance, academic productivity, and overall well-being among university students.
