Smart farming software using the Internet of Things supports soil monitoring and irrigation automation through connected sensors, controllers, and cloud-based analytics. The system continuously measures soil moisture, temperature, humidity, nutrient levels, and field conditions across different agricultural zones. Sensor data are transmitted to a centralized platform where farmers can monitor crop requirements through real-time dashboards. Automated irrigation controllers activate or stop water delivery according to soil conditions, crop type, weather forecasts, and predefined thresholds. Alerts notify farmers about dry soil, sensor faults, water leakage, abnormal field conditions, and equipment failures. Historical data also support irrigation planning and resource evaluation. Overall, IoT-based smart farming software can reduce water consumption, improve crop health, lower labour requirements, and support precise agricultural management.
