Sleep duration is an important determinant of physical health and overall daily functioning among adults. This study examines the association between average sleep duration and selected indicators of physical health. Sleep duration is assessed through usual nightly sleep hours, sleep regularity, and daytime rest patterns. Physical health is evaluated using self-reported energy levels, fatigue, body weight, physical functioning, frequency of common health complaints, and presence of selected chronic conditions. The findings suggest that both insufficient and excessively long sleep durations may be associated with poorer physical health outcomes, including greater fatigue, reduced daytime performance, and unfavorable weight status. In contrast, obtaining adequate and regular sleep is associated with better energy, improved physical functioning, and greater overall well-being. The study highlights the importance of maintaining healthy sleep duration and consistent sleep schedules as part of a balanced lifestyle to support physical health and reduce the risk of long-term health problems among adults.
